Here's a meditation taken from Dr Chris Iron's The Compassionate Mind Approach to Difficult Emotions: Using Compassion Focussed Therapy. I attended Chris's session in London, in February of 2017. I particularly remember this exercise. Chris writes: it can be important to create inner speech that is caring, reassuring, supportive. We can tie this into our breath work, and use certain words or phrases that can further 'boost the signal' and help us connect with a great sense of calmness.
